Our Programs
Activities
During our program, participants gain personal development skills in small group training from experts in compassionate care. During the training, topics have included: compassionate listening, mindfulness, palliative care, education on dementia and more.

​​Young women who have joined us in the past have expressed an irreplaceable satisfaction from gifting their time and love to the elderly. Time and again, they describe that spending time with the residents was an unexpected gift that they didn’t know they needed. Join us so you can experience this satisfaction and to gain a new network of friends and Sisters who are passionate about service to the elderly.
Every day, spiritual retreats are held with daily mass and prayer and substantial time for reflection. Being Catholic is not required, however, we ask that all applicants engage in the spiritual component of the program. And even though you do not have to be actively discerning religious life to participate in SALT, it is an opportunity to explore God's plan for your future. And, several participants have found their vocations in the Carmelite order. The program is a perfect opportunity to explore your options.
Activities
Some past group activities have included happy hour, bingo, party, singalong, ice cream making, memory albums, travelogues, beauty parlor, tea party, wine and cheese social, walks outdoors, arts and crafts, and pet therapy.
Interests and Skills
If you practice an art, sport, craft or have another skill, we want to know about it. We can give you the chance to share it with the residents.
Room & Board
Free room and board is provided for all participants. But please note that you are responsible for paying for your travel expenses.
